Fruits and Veggies diet weight loss
When you're trying to lose weight, or at least trying to maintain your current healthy weight, adding fruits and veggies to your diet is an excellent start. However, some fruits and veggies can actually work better than others to really boost your weight loss and help you reach your goals sooner. Learn here the ones that work the best to help your weight loss and maintenance goals become a reality!
What you need are low-calorie yet nutrient-rich fruits and veggies. These types of healthy foods will keep you full longer and help you have more energy throughout the day without the caloric consumption. Since you have to eliminate 3, 500 calories from your diet to lose a single pound (if you want to lose a pound a week you have to eliminate 500 calories every single day!), your goal is to find foods that will give you energy and nutrition without adding calories you have to burn off in your diet.
The solution? The RIGHT fruits and veggies. While all fruits and veggies are certainly good for you, choosing a plethora of fruits and veggies that meet the weight-loss criteria will certainly give you the boost you need to get your weight-loss goals in action. Incorporate fruits and veggies into your diet daily, paying special attention to the following healthy choices that will keep you full, focused, and energized.
Beans are the best choice for your diet if you are wanting to be full and energized and still lose weight. Green beans or legumes, or any kind of bean are full of protein (a single serving has as much as a hamburger patty) and won't leave you with all the fats and salts that meat does. The protein is essential for muscle and energy and will help you stay active longer and stronger without feeling undernourished.
Raspberries and pears are low in calories and chock-full of nutrients, so stock up on those. The pulp in a pear will keep you full for a long time without reaching for a snack, and is juicy and sweet enough to satisfy a candy craving. If reaching for strawberries, choose raspberries instead, as they are similar in taste but have far less calories than their berry rival.
Spinach, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts (the darker greens) are super nutrient enriched tasty veggies that are great for your weight loss ambition. Instead of turning to lettuce or peas that won't fill you up, turn to the darker green veggies to stay satisfied and on course.
Tomatoes, grapefruit, and red bell peppers are a dieter's best friend. Full of filling pulp and low in calories, these tasty products will boost your energy and keep you full and focused.
Stay away from corn, canned fruits and veggies, and potatoes (starchy) and stick with the darker veggies and fruits. Reach for steamed carrots, yams, or squash instead.
Blueberries and bananas are full of energy, potassium, and vitamins. Besides being delicious, they give you a great boost all day long.
Oranges are a great bet for satisfying your sweet tooth and having a tasty snack on hand. Blend a banana, carrot, and orange together in the blender with non-fat yogurt for a great breakfast, or just blend the fruits and carrot and leave out the yogurt for a great combination!
The darker the color, the better for nutrients in your diet. Remember, all fruits and veggies are good, but the truly great ones are the ones that fill you up, pump you full of nutrients, and give you all-day energy to help you maintain a healthy weight!

Challenged my sis to a weight loss contest!2011-04-19 10:51:23 by bored_to_death
My sister is 23 and getting married in a month, and is having a hard time losing and toning. So she challenged me to a "weight loss" contest, and we're going to see who ends up looking the best by the end. I'm a REALLY competitive person, but stuck in a rut as far as weight loss goes. I eat low-fat/good fats, rarely eat fried foods, and I stay away from enriched pastas and breads. I drinks lots of water and I have a diet soda maybe a couple of times a week at most. I get my fruits and veggies, too. :) But I'm LOST at the gym; I don't really know where my heart rate should be for weight loss when I do cardio
Juicing is great for health, but weight loss?2012-09-04 09:54:09 by type1racegirl
Honestly, juicing AND eating is not going to lead to weight loss... watch the type of people going into Jamba Juice for example - those smoothies are extremely caloric! if you want to replace meals with juices, it's a good way to cut calories while adding nutrients, but if you're thinking of supplementing your current diet with some juice, all you're going to do is GAIN weight.
my tips? stick with veggies, and sweeten with fruit. keep it simple and within the same colors. for example - beet, carrot and apple go very well together. so does apple, carrot, ginger... the more you add, the more you stray away from good taste
Don't really care about the weight loss...2010-10-03 20:50:41 by luvdgs
I'm mainly looking into it for a cleanse. 1.5 yrs ago I converted to a vegetarian diet, then 6 months ago I transitioned to a vegan diet and lifestyle. I've been looking for a good detox product/method. I tried the Whole foods detox kit and I don't think it is all that good. I thought I'd try this for the 10 days and let that be it. I don't really have any health issues. I'm not on any meds either. If it makes me feel weak I'll stop. From what I've read, you ease off the cleanse by eating raw veggies and fruits and that is no problem for me.
You need a diet that has nutrition!!!2010-01-05 09:20:35 by fireball311
The biggest problem with most diets is you try to not eat bigger portions. when if fact you are also lowering the nutrition levels you eat. I had real trouble with this as I hate to eat fruits and veggies. I started drinking a nutritional shake mix from shakeofftheweight.com and have had a great success with my overall energy throughout the day and also losing weight. I am getting the nutrition that my body needs and have lost 52 pounds in the last 6 months. you can do one shake a day (breakfast is the best) to maintain your weight loss and get the nutrition you need for the day, or two shakes a day to help with weight loss
