Fruit Smoothies diet for weight Loss
Healthy smoothies, especially green smoothies, are one of the best things you can do for weight loss and better health. I personally have lost 40 pounds in just a few months since introducing green smoothies to my diet. I have maintained a normal, healthy weight these past four years and relish my delicious shakes every day.
A healthy green smoothie is the perfect weight loss shake because it is loaded with fiber, vitamins and minerals. They are very low in fat and calories and help to boost your metabolism.
Green smoothies ARE food so you wont feel like you are on a liquid diet. Most people who try smoothies like them so much that they continue to drink them on a daily basis for life which is perfect for long term weight management and keeping lost pounds from coming back.
Green smoothies also lead you toward healthier foods. Many people report dramatically fewer cravings for salty or fatty foods after a few weeks of drinking green smoothies. The fruits and berries in each smoothie also satisfy your sweet tooth.
I can’t exactly explain how or why,but my experience with drinking green smoothies since early 2008 has certainly had a transformative affect on my diet and I eat much healthier now than I ever have. I simply do not crave unhealthy foods anymore.
Most of my green smoothie recipes contain enough calories to be a meal replacement on their own. In order to make your smoothie a complete meal replacement, make sure you add enough greens to get at least 10 to 12 grams of protein.
Everyone’s diet and calorie requirements are different,so find out how many calories you should consume per meal and fortify a green smoothie recipe to meet your required calorie intake. For me,I make green smoothies that are between 400-500 calories, which is not too many calories per meal when losing weight.
Commercial smoothie diets have a variety of drawbacks that can make them unsuitable for many people.Certain brands are made with highly processed ingredients that contain added sugar, caffeine, trans fats, sodium, preservatives and artificial color and flavorings. Little,if any, fruit or vegetable (real foods) are used in the making of these diet smoothies. Dairy and soy-based ingredients might also be used.
Perhaps the biggest drawback to commercial smoothie diets is that they are temporary weight loss plans and typically only work in the short term. The lost weight returns when the dieter resumes normal eating habits. Green smoothies,on the other hand, contain only the natural, healthy whole foods you put in them. In addition, including green smoothies in your diet helps to foster a taste for healthier foods, which is the key to meeting long-term weight loss goals.
Before reaching for a “meal in a can”,try blending some tasty fruits and greens together, add a scoop of protein powder and drop in some ground flax seeds for the ultimate weight-loss shake that will have you feeling full and energized all morning.

Juicing is great for health, but weight loss?2012-09-04 09:54:09 by type1racegirl
Honestly, juicing AND eating is not going to lead to weight loss... watch the type of people going into Jamba Juice for example - those smoothies are extremely caloric! if you want to replace meals with juices, it's a good way to cut calories while adding nutrients, but if you're thinking of supplementing your current diet with some juice, all you're going to do is GAIN weight.
my tips? stick with veggies, and sweeten with fruit. keep it simple and within the same colors. for example - beet, carrot and apple go very well together. so does apple, carrot, ginger... the more you add, the more you stray away from good taste

There are a lot of ads now for "the Acai berry diet" which are bogus (as we all know).
However, acai berries are a healthy fruit to eat. I buy the frozen, pureed berries and use it in smoothies. They taste great, have a lot of antioxidants, but they are not the answer to weight loss any more than other berries.

Weight loss and different types of motivation. Its only been a week and i am 4 pounds lighter... i will do it for another week and hopefully lose another 4 pounds. On my third week, i will go ahead and start eating watermelon ( which is my second favorite fruit ). On my final and 4th week i will do green smoothies and fruit. Don't forget that i am taking my vitamins and drinking plenty of water. In february i will be on a balanced 1200 cal diet with 3 days of 30 min cardio per week. i am doing this first 30 days for motivation and to get myself disciplined enough.
