Diet Recipes – Vegetable Sauce Recipe
Very versatile – our roasted vegetable pasta sauce recipe can be used as a base for many different meals... a great base for food that will fit into any diet.

Our roasted vegetable sauce recipe is extremely versatile. Take a look at week 1 of our budget diet plan to see the ways in which we’ve used the recipe as a base for some delicious meals – use it with pasta, baked potatoes, meat or fish to make a filling low calorie meal that will fit into any diet!
Taken from our ’Diet on a Budget’ meal plan, which provides info and recipes to help you diet without spending a fortune, our chicken soup recipe makes 3 portions at 250 calories each.
- 1½ Red Pepper
- 1½ Yellow Pepper
- 2½ Med onion
- 350g Courgette
- 300g winter squash, unprepared
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp Mixed herbs
- 3 Cloves garlic
- Salt & Pepper
- 300g Tinned chopped tomatoes
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F, Gas Mark 6)
- Prepare and chop the vegetables and place in a bowl. Pour over olive oil, and mixed herbs and mix into the veg.
- Transfer to a baking tin and roast in the oven for 20 minutes or until soft and lightly coloured.
- Place the chopped tomatoes in a saucepan and add salt & pepper and heat through. Add the roasted vegetables and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve the 1/3 portion over cooked pasta (see notes below).
Once cooked, divide the sauce into 3 portions, one for now, and reserve 2 portions for use in Day 6 Dinner/Day7 Lunch (The Budget Diet Plan - Week 2).
In addition, remember to add the following to your diary; Pasta Twists, Dry, Average x 50g 265 cals

Because you can maybe lose weight on them, but they are not usually healthy long-term, and when you go back off the diet,weight is usually gained. I see no vegetables at dinner - I'm not sure what kind of vegetables are with the South Beach thing. Without plants, your diet is not going to give you all the nutrients you need for your health.

Wow- just weighed in- i lost 12 lbs total...in 7 12/08 10:23:05
this diet is so hot. im going on vacation but back on diet after new years. BTW- i dont eat like a pig regularly so im not worried about putting it back on. i also work out . i think ive been retaining water since i started working out, and the diet helped get rid of it. i feel so much better. i went from 164 to 152 exactly. thank GOD. ive been busting my ass...nice to see the scale agree with me. i should be around 125 so ive got a ways to go. the diets like this:

First off... Congrats on losing the 20 pounds and taking the initiative to get healthy!
You should really cut out dairy if you want to lose weight and be healthy. I've been vegetarian for about 17 years and went vegan about 3.5 years ago and I'll never look back.
Protein might not be the issue, it could be a number of things. I would start really looking into what you eat. I know you have gotten a reply with the suggestion of peanut butter.... I would stay away from peanut butter... even the low fat is very high in fat and if you're trying to lose weight
