Mean Green Juice Recipes | My Juice Cleanse

No doubt that the healthiest juices are the ones that contain greens. Green leafy vegetables contain the most vitamins and nutrients, and you’ll feel almost instantly better after drinking a green juice. Many of my readers have been asking me for green juice recipes and in particular the “Mean Green” juice recipe made by Joe Cross in the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

Typically the guidelines for making green juice is 60% dark green leafy vegetables and 40% other vegetables/fruits. You can try variations of any of the green recipes until you find one that suits your needs and tastes. For a juice cleanse you’ll drink approximately (4) 16-20 ounce drinks per day. If you are making a whole day’s worth of juice at one time, keep the extra juice in a tightly sealed container in the fridge. Here are some recipes to get you started. I am at my wits end - having a small dinner part and one of the guests is vegetarian, another is on the South Beach diet. I want to respect their restrictions (they are very good friends). All my standards are are out though. Does this sound tasty? To me it does, but Im a pretty inexperienced cook. I truly appreciate a pro's thoughts!
Thai-Style Halibut with Coconut-Curry Broth
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
4 shallots, finely chopped (about 3/4 cup)
2 1/2 teaspoons red curry paste*, or 2 teaspoons curry powder
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup light coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon salt, plus 1/4 teaspoon, plus more for seasoning
4 (6-ounce) pieces halibut fillet, skin removed
Steamed spinach**
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro...

Thanks a lot for all of the help. I might try just trying to add some kind of vegetable to every meal I eat (I get plenty of fruit already). Also some of those recipes looked awesome.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I really appreciate it.
Oh one more quick question. What do you guys think of V8 juice? Is it a good way to get some more veggies into my diet? I know it has a decent amount of salt, but I've never really had high blood pressure.
